Dear Lotus owner, do yourself a favor and sell the company to someone who knows what to do with it, you know, to someone who builds cars. for a living. It is clear that you don't, I don't know much money you have, or what expertise you have, but you are a ruining a brand, greater than you will ever be.

What's wrong with it? the Esprit was a great car that marked its time through James Bond and while not being exactly reliable, it deserves to make a come back in a newer version... I like the idea. Lotus is not necessarily synonym to lightweight accessible car, they also used to do be competitors with Aston in term of sports cars...

Although it falls far from what a real Lotus should be, I really hope they build it.
Not that I will ever be able to afford one, but I wouldn't mind seeing them driving by or hooning one on a future Forza or GT

And how many times was off again/on again. And now some Lotus exec says they didn't even made up their mind on the package? Even if it will be built, it will be a turkey, because like I said, they have no idea what they are doing, and what the final result should be. Lotus needs to be owned by someone who cares about cars, not by someone who is seeing it as an asset, that one day might pay back the investment.

Personally, I'm all for this.
Lotus can't survive making just the Elise. They can't even really survive making the Evora as well. They need something that's going to net a bit more cash.
I doubt it will be exactly the same as the Bahar Esprit, but I wouldn't mind in the slightest if it was.
What I'd love to see is a Lotus hot hatch. Small but relatively spacious, lightweight construction and either FF or FR. I reckon they could make a really kickass hot hatch, and if they borrowed a range of engines from someone they could do rather well.

They've done it before. Talbot Sunbeam Lotus (so good, they gave it 3 car names).
It's something that would get people talking about Lotus again. Even moreso than an Esprit methinks. Something massively out of the ordinary.
If they make it brilliant, they could open up a whole new market for Lotus. Closer to the mainstream market where the money is.
